Year 1/2 Dear Zoo fiction plan resources. Not ALL made by me and some found on here. These resources accompany a three-week fiction plan that is available from my TES Shop.

Year 1/ 2 three week fiction plan for Dear Zoo by Rob Campbell. The plan uses the T4W structure. The first week explores vocabulary and introduces the story, the second week includes grammar and the third supports children to plan and write a story. There are several writing opportunities that leads to an end of unit write. Resources also available to accompany this planning unit. The resources are FREE as I did not make them all.

Based on Little Hippo by Anja Klauss and Geraldine Elschner (leading on from 3 week fiction unit) a two week non-fiction writing unit for Year 2/3. Plans use year 2/3 writing milestones. The unit includes grammar/punctuation , short burst writing lessons and an end of unit non-chron report.

Resource includes 2 poems easily accessible for children to read, a poetry comparison table and template for children to make a shape poem.

Year 2/3 two week instruction unit plan- How to make finger puppets. Plan includes Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones including grammar skills, short burst writing opportunity and end of unit writing. By the end of the unit children will plan and write their own instructions. Other resources include a box-up plan template, a SEN box-up plan template and a high quality modeled write including all skills taught in the unit. Resources needed to make puppets: felt, markers, needle, thread and buttons.

Year 2/3 three week fiction plan using Varmints by Helen Ward and Marc Craste. There is also a short film available (link included) that relates to the book. Planning is written using the Year 2 and Year 3 writing milestones- relating to the National Curriculum. Unit includes skill based grammar lessons, spelling lesson, short burst writes, planning and end of unit story with time for editing. Children will innovate their own short story by the end of the unit.

3 week fiction plan for Y2/3 based on Egyptions. Plan uses the book Little Hippo and includes skill based lessons, short burst and an end of unit narrative write. Planned using the Talk 4 Writing sequence and approach. Lesson objective sin line with year 2 and 3 age-related expectations and milestones. Aldo includes short modeled story.

2-week- non-fiction writing plan for year 2 and 3 all about chocolate. This leads on from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 3 week fiction unit. Plan includes skilled grammar lessons, short burst writes and an end of unit non-fiction big write. Planned against the Year 2 and Year 3 age-related-expectations and milestones.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 3 week fiction plan for Year 2/ Year 3. Planned using Year 2/3 writing age related expectations and milestones. Plan includes skilled grammar lessons, short burst writes and an end of unit planning phase and big write. Bundle includes talk for writing modeled story.

Three week writing unit- fiction for Y2/3 based on the book The Last Tree by Emily Haworth-Booth. The book is about a village that cut all the trees down for wood but soon see that trees give us so much more! Lessons include skill lessons- direct speech, expanded noun phrases; lessons about the books- characters feelings, setting descriptions and leads to an end of unit write (story). As well as that there is a suggested launch activity to excite learners! All lessons use the National Curriculum milestones and Age-Related-Expectations.

Year 2/3. 15 lesson fiction plan based on the book The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy and Jane Ray. Plan includes short burst writes and skill based lessons leading up to writing a story as the end of unit write . Skills taught and covered from the year 2 and 3 curriculum and milestones.

Year 2/3. 12 lesson n\f plan based on the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. Plan looks at poetry, writing a set of rules and ends with a letter to planet earth. Skills taught and covered from the year 2 and 3 curriculum and milestones. Resources for lessons (example letters, templates and writing frames) included.

3 week poetry planning unit (Year 2/3) based on The Owl & the Pussycat by Edward Lear. Bundle includes 3 week plan using year 2 and year 3 milestones, reading activities, related apostrophes resources, related direct speech resources and story map to aid reciting.
